What a beautiful WINTER we are having. Yup, you read that right. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L   W-I-N-T-E-R! Not one snow day this year! I’ve got to say that I’m not really that disappointed about it, not when there has been SO MUCH sunshine!

Yesterday, I got home from work and found myself strolling though 60 degree weather! (Apparently the sweater and pants combination I had chosen was just a little too much for the day!) As I walked to my front door I looked down, and there on the path were tulips…IN FEBRUARY! Can you believe that!?

If it decides to stay like this through the rest of winter and spring I would be a happy teacher! I think my students would be happy too. Why? Because, that means that they get way more outdoor recess. Truly, this is the most often I’ve had the students go outside for recess, in years. I don’t think they mind too much. It’s nice to not be stuck inside the classroom all day long. To get out of our seats and to breath the nice, cool, fresh air! It wakes up you mind and helps you think for the last half of the day. Instead of being stuck inside under the harsh florescent lights, boxed in the white cinderblock walls.

Thank heaven that Shakespeare was wrong. Rough winds DO NOT shake the darling buds of May. Nope, this year they shake the darling buds of February!
